Chat Andreas

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 3, 2026

1. Overview

Chat Andreas connects Twitch viewers and broadcasters by triggering in-game events in Grand Theft Auto through a Twitch Extension and a dedicated desktop broadcaster application. This policy explains what data we process, why we process it, and how it is handled across both components.

Chat Andreas operates with data minimization in mind and does not maintain a persistent database of viewer profiles or personal identity records.

2. Information We Process

When you interact with Chat Andreas through the Twitch Extension, the service temporarily processes technical and transactional data supplied by Twitch, including:

  • Identity Data: Your Twitch user ID, username, or display name to identify the requester and authenticate extension sessions.
  • Transaction Data: Twitch Bits transaction receipts and identifiers used to verify payments and prevent duplicate executions.
  • Event Data: The specific game action, cheat, or feature requested.
  • Network & Diagnostic Data: IP addresses and basic request headers used for rate-limiting, routing, security, and abuse prevention.

3. What We Do Not Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate and secure Chat Andreas:

  • No Passwords: Authentication is handled through Twitch. We never receive or store your Twitch password.
  • No Payment Details: Financial transactions are processed directly by Twitch. We do not receive or store credit card numbers, bank details, or billing addresses.
  • No Advertising Profiles: We do not sell personal data, build advertising profiles, or track viewers across unrelated websites or services.

4. How Information Is Used

Processed data is used solely to:

  • Verify, authenticate, and fulfill requested in-game events.
  • Validate Twitch Bits transactions with Twitch.
  • Prevent replay attacks, fraud, or duplicate feature triggers.
  • Deliver event notifications to the active broadcaster's game client.
  • Maintain server stability, rate-limiting, security, and abuse prevention.

5. Broadcaster Software & Local Storage

If you use the Chat Andreas desktop application as a broadcaster:

  • Local Session Data: Authentication tokens and broadcaster session credentials may be stored locally on your own computer to maintain your authenticated session.
  • Signing Out: Signing out of the desktop application removes locally stored authentication credentials used to maintain your Chat Andreas session.
  • No Persistent Remote Credential Store: Chat Andreas does not maintain a persistent remote database containing broadcaster Twitch passwords or locally stored authentication credentials.
  • Configuration Preferences: Broadcaster configuration settings, such as enabled events, prices, cooldowns, and related options, may be stored or synchronized remotely so the service can accurately route and process viewer events.

6. Data Retention & Storage

Viewers: Viewer identity and transaction data are processed temporarily in memory and short-lived technical caches as necessary to authenticate requests, verify transactions, prevent duplicate processing, enforce rate limits, and route in-game events. We do not maintain a persistent database of viewer profiles or historical interaction records.

Broadcasters: Remote servers may retain operational state and configuration information required to provide Chat Andreas, including broadcaster settings and information necessary to route events to an active session. Broadcaster authentication credentials used by the desktop application are stored locally rather than in a persistent remote credential database.

7. Public Display on Stream

Events triggered through Chat Andreas are delivered to the participating broadcaster's game client. Information associated with your request, such as your Twitch display name and the event triggered, may appear inside the game, in an on-screen notification, or elsewhere in the broadcaster's presentation.

This information may therefore be visible to the broadcaster, viewers of the live stream, and viewers of recordings, clips, or other content created from the broadcast.

8. Third-Party Services & Infrastructure

Chat Andreas relies on third-party platforms and infrastructure to operate, including:

  • Twitch Interactive, Inc.: Used for identity verification, Twitch Extension functionality, and Bits transaction processing under Twitch's Privacy Notice.
  • Hosting & Infrastructure Providers: Cloud infrastructure, networking, caching, routing, and security providers may process limited technical information as necessary to operate and protect Chat Andreas.

9. Data Rights & Requests

Because Chat Andreas does not maintain persistent viewer profiles or historical viewer interaction records, there may be little or no stored viewer information associated with a request after temporary processing and cache periods have expired.

If you have questions about information processed by Chat Andreas or wish to submit a privacy-related request under applicable law, including the GDPR, CCPA, or similar regulations, please contact us using the information below.

10. Security

Chat Andreas uses reasonable technical measures to protect requests and communications, including encrypted network connections, authentication and signature verification, transaction validation, rate-limiting, and service-level access controls.

While reasonable measures are used to protect the service and information processed by it, no online system can guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Chat Andreas, its infrastructure, or applicable legal requirements. The date shown at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
